bio

Hours of prep work, careful craft. An old man hunched in a dimly lit kitchen. He was a master, his soups were a hidden gem, buried deep in the alleys of Japan. Poured into a ornately decorated bowl and set before a tired man. The smell was incredible, he wanted nothing more than to envelop himself in the steam and dig in. Something called the man away though. The bowl sat, alone, steam curling tiredly towards the ceiling, until found by Jiro. Drawn in by the smell, reminding him of his days as a human. He transformed the forgotten bowl without a thought, creating a shattered and delicate esk, more beautiful by its faults.

As an esk, Kin is quiet and enigmatic. She is the embodiment of the thought that sometimes one's flaws makes one more beautiful. She is blind, but she still sees beauty in everything, and is kind and loving to everyone she meets. She is reserved however and would not allow anyone to explore within her broken self like Apricity does. A tangle of pale dodder is coiled within the opening in her back, along with the Enoki mushrooms and scallions, only visible really from above.

My original form - I was originally a ceramic bowl, honored to hold some of the most incredible soup in the country. Warm and flavorful, comforting and savory. Ceramic, black on the outside with glazed flower patterns, the inside is glazed orange as well. Jiro transformed her.

Kintsugi, also known as Kintsukuroi, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum, a method similar to the maki-e technique. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.

my Home

little restaurant
located somewhere in a quiet allyway, deep in the twisting streets of Japan, lies a tiny little soup shop. Dark and quiet, it may seem shady, who would buy soup from a dirty allyway? It is a hidden treasure though, the elderly man running the shop is a master at his craft, content to spend his time perfecting every bowl instead of reaching for fame and glory on the main streets. Customers are few and far between, and know to keep the secret of this place, a treasure they're honored to know.

Notes When Drawing Me;
I do not have sizeshift.
My entire body is hollow, the inside surface is an orange glaze that is shiny like the flowers on my chest.
My "tail" is not an actual tail, and is limp, it is only a NF and can be hidden at will. It is Bioluminescent.

I don't often hide my lilac, but if I do, my RIGHT side of my face is cracked open, a large piece is missing.

All my edges are jagged except for the oval-shaped hole on my back. I have no back toes.

My front legs have 3 toes!!!
